ALAN GRAYSON FOR U.S. CONGRESS

Should a Republican offer a campaign to a Democrat?

From June 4 to September 5, 2006 I created and placed the TV, Radio, Outdoor and Direct Mail for Alan Grayson's first bid for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Congress, District 8, Florida.

What we accomplished in three short months illustrates what intelligent people can do with a reasonable budget and a Fixed in Stone deadline.

I'm not a political consultant.  The last major campaign I had worked on was Bo Ginn's bid for the governorship of Georgia, in 1982!  In both cases I treated the candidate as The Brand.  We proceeded logically from strategy to concept to execution.

In the end, that's all the public, any public, even yours, ever sees.

On Friday August 25th two weeks before the Primary, I flew up to Kentucky to visit Ed Lukacevic at Dinovite.  Alan called me on the way to the airport. "We ran a good campaign.  I learned a lot. It was fun.  Win, lose or draw, it was a pleasure."

We lost the Primary by 4 points.  Two years later Alan won the Primary and the General, and is now our Congressman. We'll see what happens in the 2010 elections.
